Pneumatic Conveying / Vacuum Conveying / Dense Phase / Dilute Phase / Bag Dump Station / Bulk Bag Loader / Bulk Bag Unloader / Bag Compactor

VAC-U-MAX Conveying Systems are designed to move dry products using vacuum from a pickup point to another location. Most dry products can be handled, including grains, plastics, sugar, most powders or anything that will convey through a tube.

Vacuum Conveying is the process of moving bulk dry materials, such as powders, from place to place within a factory using negative air pressure (suction). The material is transferred in a network of tubing from the pick up point (or source) to the process destination. Most Vacuum Conveying Systems transfer product based on a timed interval to the vacuum receiver. At the end of the timed sequence, the discharge valve can open and the material conveyed can discharge into the process. A huge advantage of a vacuum system over a pressure system is the fact that any air leaks will leak INTO the conveyance tube – instead of blowing dust all over your plant. The safety and housekeeping aspect of this alone makes vacuum conveyance preferable over a positive pressure “push’ approach where applicable. There are two types of Vacuum Conveying: Dilute Phase and Dense Phase.

In Dilute Phase Vacuum Conveying, the material is entrained in the air stream and there are almost equal parts of air vs product. This method is excellent for conveying most powders like sugar or flour.

In Dense Phase Vacuum Conveying, the material is transferred in “slugs” within the convey tubing. The material moves slower than dilute phase conveying and is an excellent choice for friable products or a blend of powders.
